The British luxury sports car brand Aston Martin and Swiss
watchmaker Richard Mille have announced a long-term global partnership and
racing collaboration.
The partnership will see Richard Mille and his skilled group
of developers and watchmakers work directly with the design team at Aston
Martin led by Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer, on an exciting new
collection of exclusive Richard Mille watches featuring the iconic Aston Martin
wings.
At the heart of the partnership are the key attributes of
both brands: innovation, design and technology combined with unique character
and style.
Aston Martin and Richard Mille share the importance of
offering genuine handcrafted luxury products. Each of the components that make
up a Richard Mille watch is designed, machined and assembled entirely by hand
in the Jura Canton, the Watch Valley of Switzerland. Similarly, all of Aston
Martin’s sports cars are designed, engineered and handcrafted at the British
brand’s headquarters at Gaydon in the UK.
Both companies combine the iconic design of their luxury
products with cutting edge technologies and sophisticated materials, which will
remain at the core of the new watch collection.
In addition, Richard Mille will be supporting the Aston
Martin Racing team in the FIA World Endurance Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans
and Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Commenting on the partnership, Richard Mille, CEO said: “We
are passionate about the world of luxury sports cars, it has always been a
personal interest of mine and Aston Martin is the perfect partner for us. The
spirit of embracing mechanical challenges forms an integral part of both
watches and cutting edge automotive design.”
Katia Bassi, Managing Director AM Brands concluded: “We are
delighted to be partnering with Richard Mille, a company that stands for
exceptional performance and design excellence, just like Aston Martin. We are
looking forward to working with Richard Mille over the coming years to develop
a collection of luxury high performance watches.”
